This is the fun part! For sticker sizes, you have a choice of three different image dimensions, as shown below from Apple's iOS Guidelines. Also, make sure your OS is updated to at least El Capitan or higher to run Xcode 8. Honestly, the hardest part of this whole ordeal was making room for enough storage to download Xcode. You'll have to pay Apple $100 / year for this, but just cough up the money with the naive yet optimistic hopes that you'll break even! It took a lot of gumption and Googling but I persevered, and you can, too! I'm here to share the process of how a joker like me with no coding experience got an app on the App Store. How hard could it be?Īfter about three days of confusion and minimal crying, I'm thrilled to announce that my first app ever is now available on the iMessage App Store! You can use the As Per Usual sticker pack to express that relatable feeling when you're listening to music on a train pretending to be in a music video, or to bully your friends by slapping multiple stickers on top of their messages. Inspired by all the wacky sticker packs available on the Messages App Store, I decided I wanted to make my own. No longer are we confined to the limited emotional range of emoji (I still love you, thinking face emoji), when we now have a dabbing Binky or retro pixel pokémon to express ourselves with. ![]() Be sure to submit this form 6–8 weeks in advance.I'm not sure why it took Apple so long to get aboard the sticker train, but as a long-time admirer of the cute stickers on KakaoTalk and Line, I firmly believe stickers are the best new feature on iMessage. Visit this page to tell your app’s story and get a chance to be featured. See those app bundles on the home page of the App Store? Those features are all curated by the App Store editors, and your app can be featured on there, too. By identifying your target audience and the channels they frequent, spreading the word throughout those channels gives your app a great shot at being discovered by those who will love it (and most likely tell their friends who’ll love it too). Find relevant keywords most often used by your target audience, and use methods like A/B testing to find optimal combinations. The app title and keywords are the main factors that can affect ASO. If your goal is to maximize downloads, ASO is a worthwhile investment. If you’re not aiming to maximize downloads via ASO, you can still spread the news to your friends and family, and use channels like social media to share your designs with your inner circle. Congratulations! Once your app has received the App Store’s stamp of approval, it takes approximately 24 hours to see your app on the App Store. Finally, you’re ready to submit the app for review. Here’s where you’ll fill out information to set up your app’s page, figure out pricing, and upload the screenshots you took in Step 3. You’re almost there! Open Window > Organizer > Archives, select the archive you’d like to upload, then click Distribute App. Upload the archive to App Store Connect.Select the archive you’d like to validate, then click Validate App. XCode requires archive validation to check if it meets Minimum App Requirements. The only way to do so is to remove the app from simulation, and change it to Generic iOS Device. Before you can upload the app to App Store Connect (the site you’ll use to submit your app) you need to create an archive. Be sure to take screenshots for the iPhone and iPad you won’t be able to submit the app without two of each. ![]() Here, you can preview your app and grab screenshots to upload to App Store Connect. Open XCode > Open Developer Tool > Simulator. Run the app with the program simulator. Here, you’ll paste your stickers and icons in their respective folders. You’ll use this ID to link your app on XCode to App Store Connect. Register an App ID in your Developer account at.To avoid reinventing the wheel, I’ve outlined the phase in steps, and provided resources linked below that dive into greater detail. ![]() Here, you’ll build your app on XCode and upload the build to App Store Connect.
